DESCRIPTION: APW - Hamilton, Grade 933, 16J, 18S, 14K gold HC recase with beautiful engraving detail including a bird to front and rear, small seaside home scene to rear, gold cuvette, "W.H. Eaton" marked white enamel DS dial, SW-LS, nickel damascene, s#1360. Gross weight of assembled watch 82.4 dwt (128.2 g). A scarce watch with a total production of only 650 made, this early example is from the third run of Grade 933 production. The originality of this example's private label signed dial is supported by the Hamilton ledger, which shows this serial number as having been sold to W.H. Eaton of Pawtucket, Rhode Island on April 7th, 1894.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, some soft white-ish toning of plate surfaces as is notably common among Grade 932 and Grade 933 production, plates with scattered fine and micro-fine scratches with most notable concentrations being to balance cock foot and around case screws, some abrasion to inner perimeter of barrel bridge adjacent regulator adjustment screw; dial with group of outer chapter hls between 12 and 1, single outer chapter hls at 6 and at 7:30; excellent hands, minute with small bend near tip; case shows very little wear, no dents or dings, excellent engraving detail with mild reduction of fine detail at shoulders; tight bow, crown shows light wear; glass crystal with some circular rub marks internally.
